What is the congress?

The 1st International Chess Teaching Congress is without doubt a pioneer experience in the world. A group of internationally relevant experts have been invited to the congress to meet in Menorca from 4th to 10th October and present different aspects related to the teaching of chess.

- The fundamental objectives of the congress are:
- To be a world reference for interchange amongst chess teaching professionals.
- To place the different methodologies and approaches to chess teaching at the disposal of all.
- To bring citizens closer to chess through parallel activities on the street.

The congress has been organised in such a way that the experts and the remaining participants will have the chance to exchange ideas and experiences, and contrast the different methodologies and approaches. Because of this the congress has been timed as follows:

1. Preparation of the specific web page: May-June 2004.
2. Presentation of experiences, on-line forum and registration: July-September 2004.
3. Congress with presentations by internationally significant experts: 4th to 10th October 2004.
4. Preparation of the white book including the suggestions dealt with and the congress presentations and debates: November-December 2004.5. Publication of the white book: January 2005.
